My Mother Elle , was born in a small village called Potamia, Sparta in Ellatha ( means Greece ) she was one of seven children and they helped around the farm , back in those days times would be tough because of world war 2 then the civil unrest .. ok will not get into specifics . My mom's family pretty much grew and raised everything they needed to survive , my grandmother weaved wool blankets , which believe it or not they still exist today , they made their own butter , oil and soap , I remember asking my mother for recipes for these things , I do have them somewhere here and eventually I will post them .My mother passed away Nov 1st 2011 just before the holidays , we miss her terrible , but I am glad that she has left us with beautiful memories and I also have a collection of recipes and proverbs that I will share periodically , we love and miss you mom .
